Amith George is a Co-Founder, Technical Lead, and Engineering Manager with over 11 years of experience building desktop and web applications across multiple platforms including .Net, JVM (Clojure), and NodeJS. He is currently working as a Senior Product Engineer at LifeCheq. Amith has designed, built, and maintained multiple highly available and scalable product offerings used by millions of people daily, backed by microservices written in Clojure. Prior to this, he was building his own two startups on the .Net stack in C#. Amith has worked in and led Agile teams working on web (frontend and backend), analytics, and DevOps. He is responsible for the production environment and works closely with operations to ensure uptime, better visibility, and reduced costs. He relies on practices such as TDD, pair programming, trunk-based development, and continuous code review to ensure good design. Amith enjoys mentoring and teaching his team, helping them grow and grow with them. He is a polyglot technologist proficient in Clojure, Javascript (frontend and NodeJS), and C#. He is comfortable with Shell Scripting, F#, Java, Python, Ruby, Scala, and more. Amith has worked as a Technical Lead and Engineering Manager at Gojek, Southeast Asia's leading on-demand platform, and a pioneer of the multi-service ecosystem model. He led a cross-functional team of around 15 members, responsible for finding the best driver for a given customer's order. The team owned eight microservices, most of them written in Clojure. He also worked as a Technical Lead at Quintype, where he was responsible for overseeing the development practices and being the bridge between the various frontend teams, the core platform team, and the customer experience team. Amith holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
