Amith R is a highly skilled Robotics Software Engineer with 3.61 years of experience in the field. Currently working at NewSpace Research and Technologies as a Robotics Engineer, Amith is responsible for developing and implementing deep learning based visual tracking algorithms for drones to follow and strike targets. He has also written a C++ driver for real-time feedback control of gimbal payload from applications and has added features in QGroundControl GCS for target selection. Prior to his current role, Amith worked at NewSpace Research and Technologies as a Project Engineer where he worked on Kinematic State Estimation of flying targets using interacting multiple model EKF. He has also worked at Rangeaero as a Research Engineer (Computer Vision) where he worked on dense 3D reconstruction of scenes using stereo cameras, point cloud segmentation, clustering for identifying obstacles in 3D space, and precision landing of drones using Aruco Markers. Amith also made changes to ardupilot firmware to perform yaw correction while landing. Amith holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from PES University EC Campus.
