Amod Gandhe is a highly motivated and technically sound Software Developer currently working as a Member of Technical Staff at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. He strongly believes in the quote "Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever" by M.K.Gandhi, and has been continuously learning and exploring new technologies throughout his career. Amod completed his Master's degree in Computer Engineering and has been extensively working with Java and related technologies. He has 5.35 years of relevant experience in the field of Software Engineering, Infrastructure, NLP, and Research. He has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University, where he explored the NLP domain by working with a professor Dr. Alex Doboli to improve state-of-art text summarization techniques. Amod has a proven track record of delivering high-quality work and has worked with some of the leading companies in the industry. He worked as a Software Engineer at Macy's, where he went on to become an owner of Macy’s wallet within a few months of his first job. He worked to improve the application stability by around 0.5% during the holiday period, served 3x users compared to daily traffic, and delivered the 2019 holiday period with 0 customer-facing issues. He collaborated with team members to develop the migration batch job that deals with converting huge amounts of records. Currently, he is working on the 1st phase of a 3 phased project to comply with PCI rules & regulation, dealing with highly sensitive data pertaining to the user's wallet. Apart from being technically sound, Amod is also involved in various social and extra-curricular activities that have taught him lifetime lessons about socializing, being in diverse teams, leading teams, and becoming an individual who is cautious about decision-making. He is always open to learning something new and widening the scope of his knowledge. Now that he has understood the endless opportunities in Silicon Valley, he is open to exploring newer challenges.
