Amol Gautam is a skilled software engineer with a Master's degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. He has over 4 years of experience in the industry, having worked with top companies such as Red Hat and Cisco. Currently, he is working as a Software Engineer at VMware. At Red Hat, Amol worked as a Software Engineer in the Ansible tower team. He was responsible for developing the offline analytics feature for use cases where cloud analytics is not available. He also modified API's to be more descriptive about nested jobs, refactored the code base when the product name was changed from 'tower' to 'controller', and assisted in the design/development/testing of Firewall rules among mesh nodes. Additionally, he refactored the scheduler and remote callback mechanism for a significant increase in performance with respect to playbook execution time. Before joining Red Hat, Amol worked at Cisco as a Network Security Engineer for 2 and a half years. He has experience in AWS, Backend, Golang, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. During his time at Red Hat, he worked on developing an AWS cleanup tool in Golang for OpenShift Dedicated Cluster to remove unused AWS resources, leading to reduced AWS billing costs. He also integrated the project with Kubernetes PROW and CI/CD pipeline, and deployed it on an internal staging Kubernetes cluster.
