Amol Gautam is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 4 years of experience in the industry. He is currently working at Red Hat as a Software Engineer in the Ansible controller backend team. Prior to this, he worked at Cisco for 2 and a half years as a Network Security Engineer. Amol holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. At Red Hat, Amol has worked on various projects, including developing an offline analytics feature for use cases where cloud analytics is not available, modifying API's to be more descriptive about nested jobs, and refactoring the code base when the product name was changed from 'tower' to 'controller'. He has also assisted in the design, development, and testing of Firewall rules among mesh nodes, live reload of nodes, work authorization/signing among mesh nodes, and memory optimization among mesh nodes. Additionally, he refactored the scheduler and remote callback mechanism for a significant increase in performance with respect to playbook execution time. During his time at Cisco, Amol programmed, tested, and deployed an internal tool based on MySQL/PHP/JavaScript/HTML5 that automatically created interactive tutorials from screenshots taken during troubleshooting sessions. He was also part of the internal field-testing team and recreated complex networks in the lab to investigate the root cause of aberrant behavior. Amol's educational background, combined with his experience in the industry, has equipped him with the necessary skills to excel in his field.
