Amritap Chowdhury is an experienced MTS Data Scientist with a strong background in Data Science. With over 3 years of experience, he has developed and deployed Machine Learning and Deep Learning solutions at scale. He is skilled in Data Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Natural Language Processing, Image Processing, Python and PySpark. Amritap holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. Currently, Amritap is working as a Research Intern at Indian Statistical Institute where he is researching indicators that can be used to model the Box-office performance of Hollywood films. He is being mentored by Dr. Amita Pal. In the past, he has worked as a Research Intern at the same institute where he researched on unsupervised and semi-supervised algorithm for automatic identification of aircrafts from satellite images at different angles. He was mentored by Dr. Amita Pal during this time. He has also worked as a Research Intern at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur where he researched on semi-supervised algorithms for Hyperspectral Image Classification. He was mentored by Dr. Pabitra Mitra during this time. Amritap has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering from Kalyani Government Engineering College and X and XII from St. Xavier's Institution. He also holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Computer Science from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
