Anand Mukundan is an accomplished Engineering Manager with over 8 years of experience in software engineering. He is currently working as a Software Development Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he brings his experience and passion to design and develop software applications. Anand is known for his ability to work with partners from diverse backgrounds and skillsets, and he takes pride in mentoring engineers and leading teams to iteratively build large complex highly available and scalable software products. Before joining AWS, Anand worked as a Senior Engineering Manager at Wayfair, where he played a key role in driving various engineering and business solutions across cross-functional teams. He also defined the vision and drove the technical investments to decrease overall processing time by 98.5%, increase availability and on-time customer notifications to 99.99% and 12% for the Delivery Route Processor. Anand started his career as a Programmer at Catalina Marketing, where he developed in-house and client websites such as Target, MSN, Orange(France), Intermarche (France), Couponnetwork (France and Japan) using OO Design in PHP Kohana framework. He also created a tool using Ruby, Backbone.js and Bootstrap to aid the product support and operation teams and worked on developing rollback mechanisms to make the sites resilient in case of system failures. Anand holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Indiana University and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering | Information Technology from SIES Graduate School of Technology, Mumbai University.
