Anant Gupta is a Senior AI Research Engineer at Bloomberg LP, where he is currently working on research and productionization of NLP in the financial dialog domain. With over 8 years of relevant experience, Anant has a diverse background in AI, research, and full-stack development. Anant's previous work involved designing systems to learn from radiology images and reports to build products that aid radiologists in detecting diseases early on and save patient lives. He has also worked at NYU Langone on diagnosis prediction, under the supervision of Narges Razavian. Anant graduated from NYU with a Master's degree where his research work was on Deep Learning involving generative models, focusing on learning from videos, supervised by Rob Fergus. Prior to his work in AI research, Anant was a full-stack developer and founded an e-commerce startup. He has also built the initial food ordering platform for the web at Zomato. Anant's experience in full-stack development has given him a unique perspective on AI research and productionization. Anant's past companies include Imagen Technologies, where he worked as an AI Research Engineer and AI Research Intern. At Imagen Technologies, Anant developed AI-assisted CAD devices and applied self-supervised approaches to pathology detection in X-ray images by leveraging noisy labels from radiology reports using natural language processing. He also wrote and deployed web-based prototypes demonstrating human out-of-the-loop workflow.
