As a Senior Software Engineer at Ribbon Health, Andre Newland is an expert in building out functionality for the company's comprehensive API data platform. With a focus on improving data and distribution infrastructure, Andre advocates for technical excellence and a strong engineering culture to ensure that every healthcare decision is high-quality, cost-effective, and convenient. Before joining Ribbon Health, Andre was a Data Science For All / Empowerment Fellow at Correlation One, where he helped develop the world's best data analytics training program. He also co-founded Tarseer, a company that developed an accessible platform for collecting information on the eye to deepen understanding of eye function and structure and allow for the detection and monitoring of diseases. As the lead engineer and architect of a 100K+ lines codebase, Andre contributed 101K+ additions and 48K+ deletions and developed a modular framework to enable rapid prototyping of visual field algorithms. He also performed extensive research on eye tracking technologies, visual field testing devices, and visual field testing algorithms to inform the design and patent of an accessible headset. Andre earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tufts University in 2017 and graduated from Hackley School in 2013.
