Andrea L. is a software engineer with nearly six years of relevant experience. She is passionate about lifelong learning, sustainable living, and animal welfare. Currently, she works as a software engineer at Twilio, where she is responsible for developing software solutions to meet the needs of the organization. Prior to her current role, Andrea worked as a frontend engineer at Ethic, where she designed, built, and tested the front end portion of the organization's portfolio management and trading system. She also collaborated with product designers, product managers, and software engineers to deliver compelling user-friendly products. At Swell, Andrea worked as a software engineer, where she developed a cross-platform desktop app called Swell, which is a developer tool for API testing. She leveraged React hooks for cleaner code and clearer logic and centralized the state management of the application with Redux to allow for state global access and reduced complexity for component reusability. Andrea also built a mock WebSocket server that enabled speedy connection and a variety of data transmission, including strings, array buffers, and blobs, breaking free of constraints from third-party public echo server. Andrea holds a master's degree from Penn State University, where she studied from 2013 to 2015. She also has a bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology Beijing, where she studied from 2009 to 2013. In addition, Andrea completed an Advanced Software Engineering Immersive program at Codesmith in 2020. Andrea's tech stack includes software engineering, frontend development, testing, Redux, and UI design.
