Andreas Malekos is a multilingual computational physics graduate with research and industry experience. He is skilled in MATLAB, C++, and Python, with applications in engineering, multi-objective optimization, simulation, and quantum computing. He graduated with a first-class degree from the University of Edinburgh in 2019 and is now working to revolutionize the design of infrastructure as the Chief Scientist at Continuum Industries. Continuum Industries is a company that gives linear infrastructure planning and design teams superpowers to design faster and build cheaper. Andreas is responsible for the design, development, and testing of the CI Engine. As Chief Scientist, he works to automate the existing design process and use AI to explore millions of possible design options. His focus is on engineering, not number crunching. Andreas has previously worked as an Optimisation Engine Developer at Continuum Industries and a Simulation Engineer at HYPED. HYPED is the University of Edinburgh's student society that competes in SpaceX's Hyperloop competition. Andreas gained insight into many different systems of the pod and worked with all teams, ranging from levitation subsystems to software. He conducted Finite Element Analysis Simulations on electromagnetic systems using COMSOL and simulated pod trajectory using MATLAB by implementing forces generated by the halbach wheels and levitation skis. Andreas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computational Physics from the University of Edinburgh and a European Baccalaureate from the European School of Brussels III. He has 3.35 years of relevant experience and is skilled in research, AI, infrastructure, test, and Python.
