Andreas Soleiman is a highly experienced Data Scientist with a track record of designing sustainable IoT solutions. He is a graduate of Uppsala University, where he completed his Master's degree in Engineering Physics. Andreas is currently on leave from his PhD at MIT, where he has been conducting research in the field of Computer Science. With over 3 years of experience in designing sustainable IoT solutions, Andreas has become an expert in software engineering, data engineering, and data science. He is also an experienced hardware designer, having worked on PCB and architecture designs for embedded systems. Andreas has published his research in prestigious computer systems venues such as ACM MobiSys and ACM MobiCom. Andreas has international experience, having worked in Germany at MPI-SWS and in the UK at Oxford/Cambridge. He has also taught and given public speeches on various topics related to his field. Currently, Andreas works as a Data Scientist at H&M Innovation Lab, where he is responsible for developing analytical and machine learning products from telemetry data collected from connected appliances. He uses tools such as Databricks (Spark), Scala, and Python for ETL framework implementation, Airflow for workflow orchestration, and Microsoft Azure as a Cloud hosting platform. Andreas is also involved in automation and participates in an Agile framework for sprint planning and development (Atlassian suites - Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket). Prior to joining H&M, Andreas worked as a Software Engineer at Zenseact, a startup spinoff from Volvo Cars. He was involved in developing the software platform for autonomous driving, including collecting and analyzing logs from driving exhibitions using the driver assistance (AD) system present in the cars. Andreas also worked as a Data Scientist at Electrolux, where he was responsible for implementing optimization models for advanced analytics on large scale data from Electrolux products. Andreas is highly skilled in various technologies such as Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Databricks, Spark, Apache Airflow, CI/CD, ML, Jenkins, ETL, Azure, Python, and Scala.
