Andrei Kun is an experienced Engineering Manager with a passion for leading and scaling cross-functional teams of software engineers. He is currently working as an Engineering Manager at Hopin, where he is building the first all-in-one live online events platform. Prior to Hopin, Andrei worked as an Engineering Manager at ComplyAdvantage, where he led two cross-functional teams of software engineers in fighting financial crime by developing and maintaining the AML Customer Screening platform. During his time at ComplyAdvantage, Andrei was responsible for coaching, mentoring, inspiring, and motivating individual contributors and line managers. He also led and aligned engineering teams to the company's vision, worked closely with engineering teams on designing and planning technical initiatives, improved engineering quality and efficiency, and created a positive culture where everyone could thrive. Additionally, Andrei was directly involved in staffing the engineering teams and the hiring process as a hiring manager. Before becoming an Engineering Manager, Andrei worked as a Technical Lead at ComplyAdvantage, where he was responsible for both individual contribution and for hiring and growing a frontend chapter to modernize the AML Screening app. In this role, he led teams of frontend engineers responsible for rewriting the Screening app and cross-functional teams responsible for end-to-end deliveries across the entire KYC product line. Andrei was directly responsible for technical direction and hands-on coding, as well as line management duties through performance evaluation, feedback, coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating other team members. Andrei's education background includes a Master's degree in Multimedia Technologies and Telecommunications from Universitatea Tehnică din Cluj-Napoca and a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications Engineering from the same university. He also holds a Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School Online. Andrei's technical skills include Senior Software Engineer and Frontend development. With over 9 years of relevant experience, Andrei is a skilled leader who is passionate about building and leading high-performing teams to deliver exceptional results.
