About

Andrew Faulkner is a versatile and motivated full-stack web developer with a passion for software development and neuroscience. Andrew's experience also includes extensive statistical analysis and signal processing, much of which he codified in algorithms and implemented in software, and/or used in papers that were eventually published in peer-reviewed science & technology journals. Currently, Andrew is working as a Full-stack web/mobile developer at OHRI: mHealth Research Team (CANImmunize), where he is building and maintaining the web version of CANImmunize. Andrew is also mentoring new hires & co-op students, teaching junior hires Javascript, Typescript, CSS, HTML5, etc. In addition, he is building internal web apps to allow non-technical public health experts to test the vaccination scheduling engine and modify official vaccination schedules. Andrew has also created microservices & backend components used by both the CANImmunize mobile and web apps. Andrew's past experience includes working as a Node.js & Frontend Software Developer at flowreach and as a Full-stack Ruby on Rails and Mobile developer at Ackroo. Andrew has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Neuroscience (computational-focused) from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. Andrew is seeking work on socially beneficial technologies, such as anything connected to healthcare (especially public), research, affordable housing, green energy, international development, universal public services, or sustainable agriculture. Andrew is a polymath with expertise in web, mobile, Javascript, research scientist, frontend, test, backend, Typescript, Ruby, Docker, AWS, integration, microservices, software engineer, Redis, Redux, Jenkins, DevOps, Postgres, CI/CD, MySQL, SQL, NodeJS, and Java.
