Andrew Glose is a Senior Android Engineer at Twitter with over 10 years of relevant experience in the field. Andrew's passion for computers started when his grandfather showed him how to use DOS commands to boot a video game from a floppy disk. Prior to joining Twitter, Andrew worked as an Android Software Engineer at Cigna where he led a team of six engineers in refactoring Cigna's flagship app using Kotlin and following MVVM and Clean Architecture design patterns. He also enhanced Cigna's Wellbeing app by reducing app size and load times with Java, MVVM, and SQL, utilizing concurrent API calls with Retrofit which minimized APK size by ~50% and reduced login times by over 300%. Andrew was promoted to Technical Lead for all Cigna apps with 600K combined users after demonstrating the need to modernize the Android codebase. Andrew also worked as an Android Developer at Hangify where he engineered an Android application to discover the best events around local college campuses from the ground up using Java, Parse, and Facebook Auth to drive and expand the existing 7,000 user base. He was responsible for translating iOS screens into usable Android screens utilizing Material design specs achieving an extremely fast and intuitive UI. Andrew's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Temple University.
