He was project lead on a unique educational citizen science project - an online project for helping scientists analyze cellular image data through public participation. He also worked on improving their microscope data acquisition and analysis software. Andrew has also worked part-time as a developer at the University of Queensland, where he developed a prototype and website for a proposed educational 3D computer game. Andrew holds a PhD in IT, cell biology, and electron tomography from the University of Queensland, where he also completed his Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) with Honours. He completed his high school education at Smithfield State High School and his primary education at Nakara Primary.
