Andrew Noske is a Full Stack Software Engineer at Google with over 13 years of relevant experience. He is a highly motivated individual with a passion for new experiences and technologies. Andrew's professional goal is to build on his experience as a software engineer, utilizing all his current skills, particularly his creativity, as an employee in the computer industry. He believes in working smart, settling only for his personal best and taking full advantage of any opportunities to learn new skills. Andrew's specialties include many programming languages such as C++, Python, Visual Basic, C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, JSP, mySQL, HTML, and XML. He has significant technology experience in QT, OpenGL, QT, and the .NET framework. Andrew is also skilled in web applications, graphics design (all Adobe products), software architecture and design, object orientation, best practices, image processing, and electron tomography. He is also passionate about teaching and mentoring. Currently, Andrew works as a full stack engineer on Google Maps, where he is responsible for indexing and ranking imagery on Google maps, such as Street View and user-generated content uploaded via desktop and mobile Google Maps. He has also worked on crowd-sourcing, machine learning, and back-end design. Andrew's 20% time at Google has included various projects, but the one he is most passionate about is a special cleanup challenge that has a high environmental and educational component. Before joining Google, Andrew worked at ncmir as a Postgraduate Employee, where he conducted research and worked in software development in the field of neuroscience (brain cells) and electron microscopy. He was project lead on a unique educational citizen science project - an online project for helping scientists analyze cellular image data through public participation. He also worked on improving their microscope data acquisition and analysis software. Andrew has also worked part-time as a developer at the University of Queensland, where he developed a prototype and website for a proposed educational 3D computer game. Andrew holds a PhD in IT, cell biology, and electron tomography from the University of Queensland, where he also completed his Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) with Honours. He completed his high school education at Smithfield State High School and his primary education at Nakara Primary. Andrew's technical skills include software engineering, image processing, designing, JavaScript, ML, PHP, MySQL, mobile, backend, web, Python, Java, and research scientist.
