Andrew Pagan is a Software Engineer II at Khan Academy with a passion for personal finance and teaching people the building blocks of becoming financially independent. With over 6 years of relevant experience, he has developed a strong skillset in software engineering, frontend development, QA, backend development, and product management. Andrew's motto is "never stop growing", which reminds him that education doesn't stop after college and investing in oneself is invaluable. He is always looking for opportunities to learn and grow in his career. At Khan Academy, Andrew has spearheaded several projects, including developing the Individual Student Mastery report as lead project frontend engineer, collaborating with backend, design, and QA to identify struggling skills for a student, increasing teacher intervention and student mastery. He has also built the Districts Dashboard, an internal tool that allows the support team to create districts, check rostering data, and perform other engineer-intervention required functions, decreasing turnaround time for district assistance. Prior to joining Khan Academy, Andrew worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Reputation, where he led the frontend development of an internal CRM system and designed a universal FAQ widget to enhance Google SEO. He also identified and resolved bottleneck challenges for low bandwidth users in legacy code through smart caching and identifying key data points, increasing productivity and code maintainability. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he graduated in 2016. He also attended Oceana High School from 2008 to 2012.
