Andrew Rudoi is a Senior Systems Engineer at Riot Games, with a passion for writing Kubernetes controllers. With over 7 years of relevant experience, Andrew has worked for companies such as New Relic, Inc. where he served as a Senior Software Engineer - Reliability, and Site Reliability Engineer. At New Relic, Andrew designed and developed several Kubernetes controllers in Go, including controllers for bare metal infrastructure management, secrets management, multi-cluster workload deployment, and more. He also contributed to Cluster API, a series of open source Kubernetes controllers for managing the lifecycle of clusters, and was appointed maintainer on Cluster API's AWS Provider. Andrew played a key role in executing a multi-cluster Kubernetes strategy backed by Cluster API, which involved migrating stateless and stateful workloads onto the Kubernetes platform. Andrew's expertise in Kubernetes and AWS has allowed him to educate internal software teams on best practices regarding reliability, custom resource management, developing controllers, and more. He has also participated in on-call rotations for DC/OS and Kubernetes platforms made up of 7500+ hosts split between bare metal and AWS environments. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management Information Systems from Temple University. His technical skills include Kubernetes, AWS, SRE, infra, and software engineering.
