Andrew Sotzing is an accomplished Engineering Manager with over 15 years of experience in the tech industry. He is currently employed at Bonobos, where he leads the engineering team as the Engineering Manager. Andrew has a proven track record of delivering successful projects, managing teams, and driving growth. Before joining Bonobos, Andrew worked at Couchsurfing and Couchsurfing International, where he held various leadership positions. As the Director of Engineering at Couchsurfing, Andrew led the entire engineering side of the organization, oversaw revenue initiatives, and was responsible for all hiring, code review, daily standups, sprint planning, development/infrastructure/partner decisions, and budget planning/oversight for a 20 person team. He also designed, documented, and implemented countless API endpoints, backend services, and user-facing features. At Couchsurfing International, Andrew was the Lead Web Engineer, where he oversaw the complete rewrite of the legacy codebase into a greenfield RubyOnRails application and led a data migration project for a multi-billion record, vertically sharded db into a single schema, Rails managed RDS cluster. Andrew's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science - Honors from Central Connecticut State University, where he graduated in 2007. He also attended Greenwich High School from 1999 to 2002. Andrew's technical skills include Senior Software Engineering, Web Development, Backend Development, iOS and Android App Development, Ruby, Infrastructure, QA, DevOps, and Frontend Development.
