Andrew Walpole is a principle web developer, technical product architect/owner, and senior experience designer with over 15 years of experience designing and developing web-based products to meet strategic business goals. He is a strong problem solver, strategic thinker, and leader, focused on agile design and development processes and rapid prototyping for product validation. Andrew is passionate about workplace innovation and cultivating a strong company culture, believing in setting expectations, personal accountability, and clear/open communication as core mechanisms that drive engaged and purposeful work. As Director of Web Development at Traina Design, Andrew is responsible for leading the development of web-based products that meet business goals and drive organizational success. He is a strategic lead in defining department and company training strategy, and has managed and cut down a six-figure budget by 25% while exceeding team goals. Andrew has also organized and led multiple corporate conferences on creativity, ideation, and innovation. Prior to his current role, Andrew worked as Manager of Experience Design & Lead Web Developer at Jack in the Box, where he architected and led the strategy and development of a custom, in-house enterprise training web-application. He launched training web-app 1.0 in 6 months with AngularJS and Contentful CMS, 2.0 in 3 months with VueJS, and implemented ~5-10 features and enhancements per month through continuous development sprints. Andrew led a design and development team of 5 to create effective training and operational solutions through technology and informational design. Andrew has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at UC San Diego Extension, teaching night classes of various subjects across the digital media spectrum, and giving the occasional workshop. He holds a B.S. in Interactive Media Design from The Art Institute of California - San Diego, and an A.E. in Software Engineering Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology.
