Andrew Zaldivar is a Senior Developer Relations Engineer for the Ethical AI team at Google Research. He is passionate about promoting responsible development of AI by sharing knowledge, research, tools, and other resources with the larger community. Andrew has over 8 years of experience in the tech industry, with a focus on AI, research science, data science, and machine learning. Before joining Google Research, Andrew worked as a Strategist in Google's Trust & Safety group. He worked on protecting the integrity of some of Google's key products by using machine learning to scale, optimize, and automate abuse-fighting efforts. Prior to joining Google, Andrew completed his Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of California, Irvine in 2014, where he was advised by Professor Jeffrey L. Krichmar. He was also an Insight Data Science fellow in 2014. Andrew's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Psychology (Concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience), a Master of Science - MS in Cognitive Neuroscience, and a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Honors Psychology (Cognitive Sciences) from the University of California. He also studied Psychology, Information & Computer Science, and Chemistry at Cerritos College. Andrew's technical skills include AI, research science, data science, and machine learning. He is a dedicated and experienced professional with a strong focus on ethical AI development. He is committed to sharing his knowledge and expertise with the broader community to promote responsible AI development.
