Andrew Zhou is a highly skilled Software Development Engineer with over 5 years of experience in building scalable services for Amazon.com's Selling Partners. He is currently working with Amazon as an SDE, where he is responsible for designing and developing software solutions that meet the needs of the company's customers. Andrew's expertise lies in AWS, Jupyter, infra, microservices, big data, Ansible, Spark, Python, and integration. Before joining Amazon, Andrew worked with Siemens as a Software Development Engineer, where he built cloud microservices to perform usage metering, pricing, and billing using AWS tools such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, among others. He also built backup and recovery tools for cloud systems disaster recovery. Andrew also worked with IBM as a Big Data Infrastructure Intern, where he integrated Project Jupyter with IBM Analytics platforms on Apache Spark clusters. He investigated the difference in maximum Jupyter notebook kernel loads between YARN deployment modes and helped write integration tests in Python to compare notebook outputs. He also wrote Ansible scripts to install Jupyter R kernels. Andrew is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Computer Science.
