Andrey Chergik is a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer currently working at Coinbase. He has a Master's degree in Avionics Maintenance Technology/Technician from Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (MSTUCA). Andrey's past experience includes working as a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon, where he proposed, designed, and delivered a fleet-wide orchestration system for the top-of-the-rack switch remediation to ensure continuous services for hundreds of thousands of customers of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). He also proposed, designed, and engineered a project to provide detailed visibility of the worldwide EC2 fleet. Andrey mentored several software development engineers, which led to their promotion. He launched an EC2 fleet-wide Patch Verification and Report System (PVRE) in a team of two and improved the security of the Elastic MapReduce (EMR) cluster for the data science team. He also hardened the system’s security by moving to the automated certificates rotation and end-host TLS termination. Andrey has also worked as a Software Engineer at Skytap, where he pitched, designed, and developed Distributed Asynchronous Testing System in the Cloud, reducing testing times from hours to just a few minutes. He designed a fine-grained IP-based rate-limiting system to protect API from inadvertent or malicious overuse and provide uninterrupted service to complying customers of the Skytap Cloud.
