Andy Shi is a Senior Software Engineer at Structural, a mobile platform that aggregates organizational data and makes it accessible on-demand. He is a TechPoint Tech Fellowship alum with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Andy is a full-stack engineer with a specialization in React Native and frontend development. He is highly interested in startups and has a passion for UI/UX, product design, financial markets, photography, globetrotting, and volunteering. At Structural, Andy leads development on the iOS/Android platform with React Native and specializes in client-side web development with React, Material-UI, Next.js, and Apollo GraphQL. He has experience working with AWS, MongoDB, Elastic Search, and NodeJS. Before joining Structural, Andy worked as a Platform Engineer at ClearScholar, which was later acquired by Civitas Learning. He was the first full-time engineer on the team and was responsible for product and engineering on the ClearScholar platform. He successfully launched ClearScholar v1.0 to over 5000 Butler students and 30 administrators, achieving a 78% adoption rate, 70% weekly active users, and 95% student satisfaction rate for the 2016 – 2017 school year. He also scaled the platform from 0 to over 4000 active users from August 2016 – January 2017. Andy is a TechPoint Tech Fellow at High Alpha and a TechPoint Xtern Class of 2015 alumnus. He has relevant experience of 12.95 years and is proficient in software engineering, Javascript, React Native, UI/UX, frontend development, web development, iOS, Android, testing, and product design.
