Andy Trevorah is a Lead Software Engineer with over 12 years of relevant experience in the field. He is a skilled engineer who loves to bring teams together to build great products. Andy has worked on several projects in the past, including personal projects where he took some time away to start some experiments focusing around DX, which led him to build fmt-bot. It is a GitHub bot that suggests formatting changes for incoming pull requests, with a button to apply the suggestions. Under the hood, it uses Node.js, Typescript, and Redis for queueing. He has also worked as a Senior Software Engineer (Contract, via 101 Ways) at DAZN, a hugely popular sport streaming service. His role was to make DAZN scale to satisfy its users, but also scale internally to enable a growing number of dev teams. He worked as part of the Product team and as part of the Platform team. His projects included leading a team to build a service that manages global releases across multiple products on multiple platforms, improving page load times by creating a shared CDN for static assets, reducing the time to release frontend microfrontends from 30 seconds to 3 seconds, dropping the error rate by 90%, building a logo generator for internal projects that creates DAZN-style logos on the fly, building a GitHub app to scan for issues on every push to every repo (>2k repos) within 2 seconds, leading an RFC to get the entire engineering department to unanimously agree on a logging standard, reducing developer toil by automating common tasks, and rebuilding the customer help site to support new regions/languages. His tech stack includes Node.js, Typescript, Golang, React, Redux, MobX, MobX State Tree, Express, Docker, Terraform, AWS Route53, ACM, S3, ECS, ALB, Cloudfront, Lambda (incl. @edge), API Gateway, Auth0, and GitHub APIs.
