Angela Zhang is an experienced Engineering Manager at Plaid, a financial technology company that connects banks and financial institutions with apps and services. With over 10 years of relevant experience, Angela leads the Data Science and Infrastructure team and the Domestic Integrations team at Plaid. Before joining Plaid, Angela worked as a Software Engineer in Data Infrastructure at Quora, where she revamped the A/B test analysis framework from a monolithic system based on Python & Redshift to a microservice based on Java & Spark. She also led a team of three engineers to set up Airflow and migrate data pipelines from Luigi to Airflow, resulting in significant improvements in debug-ability. Angela drove proposals to improve the relationship between data-infra engineers and data scientists, defined clear SLAs of data-infra owned services, and set up better documentation and project doc norms. Additionally, Angela managed three interns in the summer of 2017, coordinating project/mentor matching, helping them meet their internship goals, writing performance reviews, and making return offer decisions. Angela holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, infra, Software Engineer, Data Scientist, Apache Airflow, Spark, test, Microservices, Python, and Java.
