Angik Sarkar is a highly accomplished CEO and Founder, with a passion for enabling humans to be superhumans. He is currently working at waylo, a company that was acquired by eDreams in 2020. Waylo developed machine learning-based price-prediction models, and under Angik's leadership, the company grew and managed a team of 30 across engineering, marketing, and operations. He also developed and managed price prediction models for 90K+ hotels around the world utilizing cutting-edge machine learning techniques. During his time at waylo, Angik grew revenue at over 20% MoM with very little external capital, and developed a natural language processing powered technique for a profitable long-tail SEM strategy involving over 2 million keywords. He also successfully negotiated multiple B2B contracts for growth and generated B2C demand leading to millions in revenue, while still in stealth. Prior to waylo, Angik was the CTO and Co-Founder of rescue.io, a non-profit emergency communication startup. He built a multi-channel emergency communication platform to complement 911, and his work has helped save countless lives. Before that, he worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Intel, where he developed software for performance evaluation of future information processing devices. Angik has a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, where he focused on machine learning and natural language processing. He also has a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Kharagpur, India. In addition to his formal education, Angik has over 10 years of relevant experience in ML, NLP, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. Angik is a highly driven and innovative leader who is passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems. He has a proven track record of success in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, and he is always looking for new ways to make a positive impact on the world.
