Angshu Rai is a highly experienced Data Science Leader with over 11 years of relevant experience. He is currently serving as the Data Science Director at Amgen, where he co-leads the AI&ML team with a mandate of bringing cutting-edge ML solutions to clients from varied sectors like CPG, FSI, media, telecom, etc. Angshu is responsible for managing business development, project delivery, and product implementation. He brings perspectives from various stakeholders to develop comprehensive solutions to problems such as choice modeling, media impact assessment, product placement optimization, early product development, next best action, etc. In this enriching experience, he has spent significant time with clients to think through the problems, solution approaches, and chalk out engagement models that work for them while grooming and co-delivering the solutions with the extended teams. Before joining Amgen, Angshu served as a Senior Data Scientist at Amgen, where he led and managed a growing team of data scientists. He worked with predictive modeling in problem areas of early diagnosis, regulatory success, personalized drug response, prescribing behavior, surrogate and predictive clinical endpoints, etc. using composite data sources: Clinical trial, EMR, proteomics, publications, press releases. In addition, he applied and advanced concepts of deep sequential representation and learning, Bayesian modeling, interpretable AI, generative AI, etc. Prior to Amgen, Angshu worked as a Principal Data Scientist at Ericsson. In this role, he worked with major pharma organizations to bring machine learning to real business problems. He engaged with clients across functions like process development, R&D, commercial, competitive intelligence, etc. to organically transform how business operates through data science. His responsibilities in this role involved crafting this journey for the client teams and delivering projects like manufacturing non-conformance analysis, modeling prescription behavior, optimizing multi-channel marketing sequences, clinical trial data harmonization & insights generation, prediction of the competitive landscape, etc. Angshu holds a Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is proficient in Data Science, AI, ML, and Research Scientist.
