• Worked on a translation back-end system, utilizing Kafka stream as input message, integrating with Microsoft Azure Translation server, and building the output Kafka stream with language detection results and translation results and stored into Hadoop. The back-end architecture of the system is Apache Samza, to handle a very high volume of input and produce a high volume output consistently and reliably (tens of thousands of input messages per second). The system also handles retrying, message throttling, message filtering.
• Worked on enhancing and maintaining a language detection system, improving the language detection merging result from different language detection libraries/vendors.
• Worked on testing, production ramping, and metrics tracking of different products.
