Anish Mistry is an experienced Engineering Director with a strong background in financial services, civil service, and retail industries. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering and a Diploma in Management Practice from the Open University. Anish is skilled in building, coaching, and mentoring highly skilled and highly performant development teams in an agile environment. Currently, Anish works as an Engineering Director (Senior Engineering Manager) at National Grid ESO, where he is building long-standing high-performance teams to support the pivot to product within the organization. He is leading the delivery of the Data Analytics Platform, Data Engineering, Markets, and Electricity Market Reform delivery teams with 50+ colleagues both on and offshore. Anish is accountable for leading cross-functional teams, financial estimates, budgeting, guiding and influencing the IT Transformation to a customer-centric product model with Agile delivery, relationship management with delivery partners, supporting personal growth for colleagues, stakeholder management across all levels within the organization, quality and timely delivery of the portfolio, agreeing and tracking KPIs/OKRs, and actively contributing in product/programme boards and steering groups. In the past, Anish has worked as an Engineering Manager at Sainsbury's, where he managed three Scrum teams supporting multiple applications within his remit. He has also worked as an Agile Development Manager/Digital Academy Manager at the Department for Education, where he managed a development team made up of apprentices and graduates delivering cloud-based solutions for users at the DfE. Anish has also led in the training and development of new apprentice and graduate developers within the agency with a D&T Academy.
