Ankit Asthana is a technology leader, inventor, author, and seasoned developer with over 13 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Manager of Product Management at Facebook, where he leads the product strategy, vision, and a team of product managers for developing the next-generation AI platform. Ankit's team is currently leading the effort of redefining AI and ML for the .NET team. Before joining Facebook, Ankit worked for Microsoft as a Principal Group Product Manager, where he led product for .NET and Azure ML (AutoML) developing services and tools for ML engineers and data scientists. He was also the co-creator of ML.NET and Spark.NET, bringing ML to .NET developers. Ankit has also worked as a Senior PM Lead at Microsoft, where he focused on designing and developing the cross-platform mobile offering along with a set of productivity features for Visual Studio. Ankit's expertise lies in simplifying complex software architecture, making software more performant, innovating, and generating fresh ideas to increase product competitiveness. He has also published a book on C++ back in 2007, which has sold over a few thousand copies, and has multiple patents submitted for perusal. Ankit has a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from McMaster University. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in various tech stacks, including product management, ML, AI, .NET, Research Scientist, Java, Spark, Azure, and Mobile.
