Ankit Goila is an experienced Project Engineer II - Controls at AVL North America with a passion for autonomous driving and deep learning. He has been working on Driveline Control Module software development for all-wheel-drive controls functionality and software development for Lv2+ and Lv4 autonomous driving R&D. Ankit's expertise in object detection using Deep Learning and deployment at the edge has made him a valuable member of the team. Ankit has gained valuable experience in the field of Machine Learning and Deep Learning during his time as an International Fellow at fast.ai. He completed courses in Introduction to Machine Learning, Practical Deep Learning for Coders, and Cutting Edge Deep Learning for Coders, which have given him a solid foundation in the field. Prior to joining AVL, Ankit worked as an Algorithm Engineer at TRW, where he designed and developed Vehicle Crash Severity Sensing and Vehicle Side Impact Sensing algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink. He also performed algorithm simulations and calibrations for various vehicle platforms using in-house CSIM software with customer-provided crash data sets. Ankit holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. He has also completed a Deep Learning Nanodegree Foundation and a Self-Driving Car Nanodegree from Udacity. Ankit's tech stack includes Deep Learning, Object detection, Software Engineer, ML, and Object Detection. With 12.94 years of relevant experience, Ankit is a skilled engineer who is always looking to expand his knowledge and skills in the field of autonomous driving and deep learning.
