Ankit Sharma is a highly skilled IT professional with over 12 years of experience in building large-scale, resilient, and distributed software systems. He has a proven track record of spearheading cross-functional and multi-team initiatives, curating policies for enhancing team productivity, and ensuring a stable system. Ankit has also mentored engineers including Managers, Leads, and SSEs for over 5 years. Currently, Ankit works at Goldman Sachs as a Vice President, where he mentors a global team of smart engineers and helps build a highly resilient system that processes multiple billions worth of transactions every day in 20+ different currencies. He has also led the launch of a smart and resilient API first, cloud-native banking solution (API Payments & API Reporting) for global clients of Goldman Sachs. Additionally, Ankit has built a reporting system to pull down on-demand and scheduled reports in multiple formats, and enhanced the document & reports sharing experience for global clients by building a new fast and secure data sharing pipeline. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Ankit worked at Paytm as an Engineering Manager and Senior Technical Lead. At Paytm, he built Paytm Bank's Transaction ecosystem from scratch and scaled it to process around 15 million transactions of worth ~500 crores each day. He also built a highly resilient and highly available Oauth System for user's authentication and successfully delivered Reconciliation Module, Lien Module, Universal Passbook Service, Maker Checker Service, and multiple others for efficient functioning of Bank. Ankit holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the University of Lucknow, completed in 2011. His tech stack includes Java and Senior Software Engineer, and he has 11.45 years of relevant experience. Ankit is a team player with a proven ability to resolve complex issues and is always looking for new challenges to push his skills to the limit.
