Ankit Sharma is a seasoned professional with over 11 years of extensive experience in building and scaling architecture for web-based services using multi-tier scalable solutions on cloud (AWS). He has hands-on experience in SQL and NoSQL databases, Amazon Cloud, and messaging queues. Ankit is a former full-stack developer, DBA, and architect with a US B1 Visa holder status. Ankit has a keen interest in handling new challenges, designing application architecture, and performance tuning of applications and databases. He is passionate about working in a dynamic, challenging, and fun environment. His specialties include Cloud Services (AWS, Digital Ocean), automating and tuning infrastructure, Infrastructure-As-A-Code using Terraform & Ansible, centralized logging using Elasticsearch-Logstash-Kibana and Graylog, monitoring setup using Grafana-InfluxDB/Prometheus, container orchestration using Docker/Swarm/AWS ECS, and setting up build pipelines using Jenkins. Currently, Ankit is working as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Cisco, where he is responsible for SRE Cloud Security and scaling and tuning CASB. He is proficient in debugging & troubleshooting incidents for the platform. Additionally, he migrated the entire product cloud resource provisioning to Terraform and modularized Terraform code to achieve high reusability and easier maintenance. Ankit also builds container solutions for components. In the past, Ankit has worked as a Technical Lead at Samsung and an Associate Manager - Technology at Affle. At Samsung, he was responsible for building new infrastructure on AWS cloud using Terraform and Chef/Ansible. He maintained Infrastructure as a code (IAAS) for all cloud-based services, performed capacity planning, security hardening, and custom monitoring methods. At Affle, he was the DevOps guy and back-end engineering lead & SRE. He built and automated cloud infrastructure for high availability, designed customized data processing and storage solutions in the cloud, and built custom solutions for monitoring, management, and reporting of infrastructure. Ankit holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, an Intermediate degree from St. Pauls Academy, and a High School degree in Computer Science from St. Marys Convent.
