I work on the recommendation engine which crunches massive amounts of data to target movies and shows to over 100M users of Netflix. I'm part of a small team that handles promotions of all Netflix originals content and license content through various channels within the Netflix platform (billboards, personalized rows, messaging like email and push notifications) and off-service like targeted ads on platforms like Facebook.

I work on writing machine learning backend of the system to compute many recommendation algorithms. Along with this I also work on interfacing the system with the edge network to make sure the content can be served within a few milliseconds.

Adobe Target Standard is a part of Adobe's Marketing Cloud. It is a suite of several of Adobe's digital marketing platforms which come together in a easy to use interface that plug a marketer into a ensemble of Marketing Intelligence applications.

I worked on this project from its inception when it was a result of a hackathon. At the start we were a small team of 5 engineers which quickly grew and got distributed across the globe.

I wrote and re-wrote the core several times to make sure it can handle the load and can be easily extensible. This project gave me a change to work directly with Apache Sling, Felix and Jackrabbit committers.

Adobe Test & Target is a feature rich platform which supports things like A/B testing, targeting, segmentation, recommendation (and much much more).

I worked on several features covering the full stack to develop and maintain the platform. A big part of the system was a large cluster of computers in an edge network (which is somewhat like a CDN and is responsible to deliver content at the rate of ~2.5 billion requests per day with a SLA of few milliseconds). 

Building such a system exposed me to large scale development and deployment. Understandably this system collects data at a tremendous rate and it must ingest it at a matching pace to make decisions about future requests.

Lastly, Test&Target was connected to many other backends to make it a feature rich solution in the field of Marketing Intelligence. It exists today as a leader in its field and is only getting better by the millisecond.
