Anshuman Mitra is a highly motivated and skilled Software Developer with a passion for Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and NLP. Currently pursuing a Masters in Computer Science at New York University, Courant, Anshuman has previously worked with D. E. Shaw India as a part of the Web Engineering team. He has also interned at Quicken Inc, IIT Kharagpur, and D. E. Shaw India during his undergrad at Jadavpur University, where he majored in Information Technology. Anshuman's academic interests are focused on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and NLP. He is always eager to learn something new and is constantly seeking opportunities to expand his skill set. In his current role as a Software Developer at D. E. Shaw, Anshuman has developed an in-house workflow engine that automates and streamlines everyday tasks. He has also created flexible and intuitive built-in workflow tasks that integrate with tools and technologies such as Slack and GitHub. Anshuman has used Java, SpringBoot, GraalVM, Apache Kafka, MSSQL, and Kubernetes to develop a modular backend that increases scalability. Anshuman's past experiences include an AI-powered Slack bot research project at D. E. Shaw and a summer research internship at the Indian Institute of Technology, where he worked on improving the precision of a LSTM-CRF based NER tagger. Anshuman's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Jadavpur University and a current pursuit of a Master of Science in Computer Science at New York University, Courant.
