Anshuman Samantray is a skilled Behavior and Motion Planning engineer with over 7 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Behavior & Motion Planning - Algorithm Engineer at Aptiv, where he develops algorithms for L2+ AD systems. His responsibilities include literature survey, algorithm design and implementation of predictive curve speed planning, lane change trajectory planning, lane change threat assessment, and intelligent speed planning. He also develops supporting tools for visualizing input and output data for algorithm evaluation and supports vehicle tests on the road for smooth and synchronized data collection. Anshuman is pursuing his Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with specialization in Control Systems at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During his time at the university, he implemented various path planning algorithms, such as A*, ARA*, ANA*, Lifelong Planning A*, RRT, RRT-Connect, RRT*, Dynamic A* (D*), D* Lite, and Field D* in Openrave using Python and C++. He also designed an architecture for image completion using Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) and implemented an encoder-decoder-based architecture using TensorFlow. Anshuman has also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he designed a Kalman filter for velocity estimation and accelerometer bias estimation of independent pod-based mobility vehicles. He also updated a web-based tutorial to teach control fundamentals with Matlab, Simulink, and Simscape. Anshuman has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, with a score of 8.84/10. He is proficient in Python, PHP, and web development and has experience working with Adversarial Networks, GAN, TensorFlow, and Neural Networks.
