Anthony Chen is a skilled Software Engineer with a passion for Typescript and CSS. Currently, he is working as a Software Engineer at Coda, where he is a part of the User Journey Team for DocX. Anthony has a diverse range of experience, having previously worked at Cisco as a Software Engineer. During his time there, he was responsible for implementing automated fail-safe backup architecture using RabbitMQ to ensure high availability of workflows. He also migrated from the previous Apache Oozie workflow management system to Apache Airflow for improved job monitoring and ease of job creation and deployment. Additionally, he developed python scripts to accommodate migration to Apache Cassandra, reducing the runtime of workflows by 10%. Anthony also led a team of three interns to convert 200+ XML-based Oozie workflows to streamlined Airflow python-based processes. Before his professional experience, Anthony was a Peer Mentor at Northwestern University, where he conducted office hours and tutorial sessions for CS 110, an introduction to computer science. He was responsible for guiding and teaching students new material during tutorial sessions as a supplement to regular lectures. Anthony has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Northwestern University and the University of California. He also completed a program at App Academy.
