Anurag Sarkar is a Senior Software Engineer at Amazon with over 3 years of relevant experience in the industry. He is proficient in multiple programming languages such as Python, Golang, and SQL, and has a strong background in infrastructure and networking. Anurag has worked on several projects at Amazon, including building Over the Top Update tools for network configuration and Full CD cloud deployment systems for edge devices. He has also developed an AWS console for bring your own network systems and a networking bandwidth collection tool. Prior to his current role, Anurag worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Wakao, where he built feed and hosting servers for media formats. He implemented heuristic solutions for user feed systems and moved to a more statistical approach of user-item mapping space to understand user retention on a feed. He also built an ML-based model for rank space and user ranking on multiple categories/sub-categories and spent a lot of time scaling and modeling SQL. Additionally, he developed CI-CD tools for faster deployment processes. Anurag is also an Open Source Contributor at Kaiyo, where he is building the future of cloud deployments and operations. He dropped out of his Master of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at IIIT Hyderabad in 2020 and completed his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, but mostly computer stuff, at VIT in 2019. He completed his secondary school education at DAV Public School, New Panvel, in 2013. Anurag's technical skills include Software Engineering, AWS, ML, Kubernetes, Docker, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Spring, Jenkins, and Pytorch. He has a passion for coding and enjoys having absolute control over something.
