Anwar Alam is a highly experienced software engineer with over 13 years of experience in software development, internet, software security, and distributed/scalable systems. He has a keen interest in coding, data structures, algorithm, and system design. Currently, he is working as a Staff/Manager Engineer at Qualcomm, where he is leading and managing the Qualcomm India tools team specializing in developing low latency distributed web applications. Anwar has been leading the Qualcomm India Static Analysis team since its inception and has groomed and seeded the team to a respectable size. He is responsible for the development of low latency web applications to deploy static analysis tools used across the organization. He leads LLD/HLD reviews and discussions and co-works with stakeholders to identify the critical set of checkers to detect security vulnerability defects. Anwar also develops kb to suppress false positives and custom checkers to address false negatives. He adheres to the security development life cycle and conducts code review, taint analysis from a security aspect. Anwar manages the team ensuring all deliverables are met and collaborates with cross-functional teams. He mentors and grooms junior engineers and is involved in hiring of engineers. Anwar designs and develops the entire framework with an eye towards scalable solutions. He has expertise in tools/technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Flask Restful API, RabbitMQ message queue, ECommander, Python, C/C++, C#, SQL, NoSQL, and Jira. In the past, Anwar has worked as a Senior Lead Engineer at Qualcomm, where he worked as a development engineer in the target stability team to resolve overall stability of Qualcomm SoC. He has also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at AOL, where he developed software for ad-server which processes massive traffic coming from publishers and partners. Anwar has experience in Internet Online Advertising and Ad-operations and has excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to multitask in challenging work environments. Anwar holds a degree in Computer Science from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology and completed his High School education from Maria's Day School (ICSE/ISC Board).
