Aparajita Saraf is an ML Generalist with a strong background in Signal Image Processing and Machine Learning. She holds an MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, where she specialized in Signal Image Processing and Machine Learning. She is currently a Software Engineer at Facebook, where she is exploring ways to address the problem of fake news classification and bias in models. Aparajita has extensive experience in the field of NLP, having worked on projects related to analyzing progress notes and predicting diagnoses for behavioral health patients. She has also created an NLP engine for clinicians to expedite the process of measuring the NIH Stroke Scale score for incoming stroke patients. Her technical skills include ML, NLP, Image Processing, RNN, Pytorch, Azure, and Research Scientist. Aparajita is passionate about exploring the impact of false positives in ML models on our surroundings. She is currently reading 'Weapons of Math Destruction' to gain a holistic understanding of this issue. She is always up for a good conversation and ideas and welcomes collaboration in this area.
