Aparna Varma is a seasoned Software Development Engineer with over 9 years of experience in the industry. Currently, she holds the position of Software Development Engineer II at Amazon, where she has been working for the past few years. Aparna is responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that meet the needs of the company's customers. Prior to her current role, Aparna worked as a Software Development Engineer on the FirePhone Maps Team at Amazon. She was also a Software Development Engineer Intern on the Contract Management Platform team, where she worked on a team that was part of the Ordering Department for Amazon's e-commerce Platform Services group. During her internship, Aparna created a server that replays large amounts of data and mimics calls to other internal services while stubbing out downstream dependencies. The purpose of the server was to perform high-level performance testing against the team's core software. Due to the multitude of requests being processed at the same time, Aparna made her code multi-threaded and asynchronous in order to avoid data races. Aparna completed her B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2014. Prior to that, she completed her high school education from Dublin High School in Dublin, CA. Aparna's technical skills include software engineering and testing.
