Appunni M is a highly skilled and experienced Data Platform professional currently working at CRED. With over 5 years of relevant experience, he has been building scalable, distributed systems end-to-end, including handling fault tolerance, monitoring, and A/B testing. Appunni has made a huge impact in the distributed processing domain, having a very good understanding of processing at scale, working with Spark. He has also built pipelines that could parse Terrabytes of data with Spark, which is a very good feeling he keeps to his heart. Appunni has a strong background in server-side coding and has experience in building full-fledged React-Redux Frontend applications from scratch. He believes state management in Frontend is the best feeling. Deployment has always been crazy, so he worked in making it easier for everyone at his company. He worked with Kubernetes cluster and deployed many of their existing applications into Kubernetes. Having a very strong understanding of Linux and Docker Networking helped him achieve that feat. Appunni is fascinated by distributed systems and believes in a future full of them. He has worked with a variety of technologies during his career, including Spark, Kubernetes, ETL, Frontend, Docker, Redux, Web, Software Engineer, DevOps, Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineering, Data Scientist, SQL, Backend, Python, Selenium, ReactJS, Big Data, PHP, MySQL, infra, and Django. Before joining CRED, Appunni worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Spoonshot, where he designed, architected, built, deployed, and monitored solutions that could "Power Great Food Experiences." He also worked closely with Data Science to provide infrastructure and DevOps support, set up data pipelines for the Data Science team, managed FullStack development efforts, and general DevOps efforts. Appunni completed his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Ceramic Sciences and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, in 2017. He is highly passionate about his work and has a track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
