He is a technical leader with expertise in data engineering, handling big data, and exposure to basic machine learning techniques. Apurva has architected real-time and scalable distributed systems and has diverse experience in e-commerce, telecommunication, and finance domains, as well as working in product-based companies. Currently, Apurva is the Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft, leading the Viva Insights group responsible for delivering Manager, Leader & Advanced Insights. The team's primary focus areas are Organizational Network Analysis (ONA), Hybrid work culture effectiveness, Core platforms enabling the product, Data Governance, Tenant provisioning & de-provisioning amongst many others. Before joining Microsoft, Apurva worked as an Associate Director leading data platform vision and implementation at Myntra. He also led the data products charter at Myntra for 2 years and built products on big data from scratch. Apurva has experience in organization building, hiring, as well as leading successful teams, planning development & support activities for short term and long term projects along with resource allocation.
