Arathi Kumar is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 4 years of experience in the industry. Currently working at Tableau Software, which was recently acquired by Salesforce, Arathi is a valuable member of the Tableau Prep Builder Team. As a Software Engineer (MTS), she is responsible for developing and maintaining software systems that help users prepare their data for analysis. Arathi's professional journey began as a Software Engineering Intern at Tableau Software, where she developed a back-end email notification feature in Java on the server-side for Tableau Bridge. She used Apache ZooKeeper to implement leader election to coordinate the feature on distributed systems and created unit tests using the JMockit framework to achieve 100% coverage. Prior to working at Tableau Software, Arathi was a Data Migrations Intern at Q2ebanking. Here, she designed and implemented a QA tool with an object-oriented approach to validate migrated data within the company database. She used the Python Tkinter package to design a GUI to interface with the user and run specific database tests depending on input. She also wrote SQL queries integrated into backend Python tests to search the database for errors resulting from incorrectly entered data. Arathi holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated in 2019. She also attended Canyon Crest Academy from 2011 to 2015.
