Areeta Wong is a third-year Computer Science major at UC Irvine with a passion for technology, product management, and design. Her interest in computer science education and accessibility stems from her experience with Girls Who Code in 2016, and she has since led 10+ nonprofits and organizations, organized numerous hackathons with over 700+ attendees, and spoken at 10+ camps, panels, and workshops. Currently, Areeta is a Software Engineer Intern at Apple under the Internet Technologies team, specifically working on the Messages app. Previously, she was a Software Engineer Intern at Datadog, where she worked on the Access, API, Authentication (AAA) team, and a Student Training Engineering Program (STEP) Intern at Google, where she collaborated with two other interns to build and pitch a full-stack web app that fights food insecurity and environment waste across 7000+ colleges in the US. Areeta's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UC Irvine, expected to be completed in 2022. She also attended Girls Who Code in 2015, where she further developed her skills and passion for computer science. Aside from technology and community development, Areeta enjoys vlogging and editing videos, discovering new boba cafes, and indulging in sushi. She is also an accomplished writer, with one of her articles garnering 82,000+ views and 2,000+ monthly views. Areeta's tech stack includes software engineering, product management, Java, JavaScript, and frontend web development. With 1.03 years of relevant experience, she is eager to continue learning and growing in her field.
