Arif Mustafa is a highly experienced C-level technology leader with over 30 years of relevant experience in driving enterprise-level IT transformations, digital innovation, and capability building to support corporate growth and performance turnaround. He is commercially astute and swiftly masters new sectors, business models, and markets. Arif combines strategic understanding of the potential of Cloud, AI, RPA, and Data Analytics with experience leading outsourcing and M&A integration programs. He has strong stakeholder engagement skills and is proven to deliver results at pace in complex matrix organizations. Arif is also a skilled people developer who builds high-performing multi-disciplinary teams. Currently, Arif is the Group CIO at Maaden, where he was brought in to deliver results at pace in a challenging environment. He successfully led and implemented one of the largest IT outsourcing deals in the region and restructured an internal organization focused on business partnering and value delivery. Arif developed the IT strategy and significantly increased employee satisfaction through measurable improvement in services. He also led the IT team through Covid-19 and ensured that the whole organization continued to operate efficiently and effectively through access to systems and collaboration technologies. Arif successfully made the case for major IT overhaul programs, including Network Modernization and a full Oracle Cloud ERP implementation. He was appointed by the CEO to lead the Ma'aden Transformation Program and gained full support from the Board. Arif is leading a large Program team combining staff and Partners to completely transform Ma'aden, including a revitalized Shared Service structure and optimized company-wide operational processes. Arif has also held senior positions at Seadrill and BP, where he delivered significant programs and implemented innovative solutions to transform business functions. He has a track record of achievement demonstrated by over 90% 'exceeds performance ratings' over the last 20 years working in world-class global companies. Arif holds a PhD in Business Strategy from Leiden University, a Postgraduate degree in Strategy and Innovation from the University of Oxford, and an Executive Education degree from Harvard Business School, the University of California, Berkeley, and Boston University. He is skilled in AI, integration, and web technologies and specializes in information technology, transformational change, oil and gas, mining, risk, leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
