Arif Rahman is a highly experienced Senior Robotics Software Architect, with over 13 years of experience in the field. He is currently working as a Senior Robotics Engineer at Petronas, where he is responsible for developing and promoting robotics solutions for the oil & gas industry. Arif is currently working on several interesting projects, including field testing and engineering for autonomous robots at offshore oil & gas facilities, developing the perception and control of an aerial manipulation application, programming an industrial robotics arm for laboratory automation, and designing an intelligent aerial surveillance system. Prior to his current role, Arif worked as a Senior Autonomous Vehicle Engineer at Moovita Pte Ltd, where he managed the Mapping & Localization system and was responsible for developing and undertaking test plans for localization under different environments, road conditions, and vehicle speed. He also worked as a Robotics Software Developer at The Construct, where he worked remotely in an international team to develop the world's leading cloud-based robotics development environment. Arif migrated 20+ robot models from Gazebo7 to Gazebo9, developed automated test scripts for deployment on their cloud server, wrote customized Gazebo-ROS plugins for an autonomous car simulation, and published weekly video tutorials on all things ROS. Arif holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Adelaide and a Foundation degree in International Baccalaureate (IB) from Mara College Banting. He has also attended SMS Sultan Mohamad Jiwa. Arif's technical skills include Senior Software Engineer, test, AWS, Software Engineer, and Web. He is passionate about exploring human-robot interaction and has organized a drone competition among Malaysian universities. Arif is a highly skilled and experienced Robotics Software Architect who is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with robotics technology.
