Arijit Kar is a highly skilled and motivated Member of Technical Staff - 2 at Nutanix, with over 2 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering. He is a graduate of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where he earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Computer Science. At Nutanix, Arijit has made significant contributions to the Xi Cloud Services team, where he worked on Docker containerization of Axiom, an internal service responsible for discovery and imaging of various nodes present in the Xi Cloud Data Centres. He set up Axiom and its dependencies as a system container to provide Axiom root access over services running within the container (DHCP). Arijit has also worked as an intern in Nutanix's Member of Technical Staff team. Prior to joining Nutanix, Arijit was the Perception Team Lead at the Autonomous Ground Vehicle Research Group at IIT Kharagpur. There, he was involved in the development of the first self-driving car suited for Indian conditions. He worked on the application of deep learning approaches for solving Object Detection and Semantic Segmentation problems. He was also involved in Monocular and Stereo SLAM for the Localisation module of Eklavya, a ROS based front-driven and front-steering autonomous electric vehicle built entirely in IIT Kharagpur. Under his leadership, the team achieved second position in the Auto-Nav Challenge of the 26th International Ground Vehicle Competition as team AGV-Eklavya6, from a total of over 35 teams from various reputed universities. Arijit's technical skills include software engineering and Docker. He is a quick learner and has a passion for solving complex problems. He is a team player and has excellent communication skills, which enable him to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
