Arijit Mukherjee is a Data & Applied Scientist II at Microsoft, with a core area of research in question answering and question generation for low resource language. He is passionate about natural language processing and computer vision, and his choice of tools includes PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, among others. Currently, Arijit is working on Neural Text to Speech for Indian languages at Microsoft. Prior to this, he was a Tata Fellow at Tata Center for Technology and Design, where he used his expertise in machine learning and natural language processing to build solutions for the challenges faced by resource-constrained communities in India. He also worked with the Hindi Shabdamitra project, a language learning platform. Arijit has also worked as a Node JS and Javascript Developer in IBM Watson Platform at Cognizant, where he was tasked with building rapid proof of concept cognitive applications, incorporating feedback from customers. He built applications using IBM Watson APIs and open source technologies covering the AI dimensions of NLP, speech, and vision. Arijit holds a Master of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering from B.P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology. With 4.86 years of relevant experience, Arijit is a Research Scientist with expertise in NLP, computer vision, Scikit, Pandas, Pytorch, NodeJS, ML, Javascript, and AI.
